How are your sizes?

Our products are true to size. Therefore, we would recommend opting for the size you usually wear in other brands.

Every product has its own size guide. This can be found above the size selector on the product page.

When the size guide is opened there will be two charts, and you will be looking for the bottom one. Here you can see the sizes according to your body measurements.

How should I wash your wool products?

Accepted Answer

Wool program, max. 30 degrees and with wool detergent. Here’s a helpful guide. We highly recommend DILLING's own wool detergent; it's perfume-free. You can read more about it here.

Should I use lanolin, when I wash wool?

Accepted Answer

We do not recommend using lanolin when washing our wool underwear, as it impedes the wool's natural properties to absorb moisture and sweat.

Lanolin, on the other hand, can have a beneficial effect if the wool is used in outerwear, as lanolin gives the wool a water repellent effect. Our laundry detergent does not contain lanolin, since most of the clothes we sell are used next to the skin. You can read more about lanolin by clicking here.

Should your wool and cotton products be washed before use?

Accepted Answer

We recommend that you always wash our clothing before use. No harmful chemicals are used in our production, but there is a small risk that there may be some residual colour left. To avoid contamination of other clothing, we therefore recommend that you wash it for the first time before use. Remember to wash your wool items on a wool program, max 30 degrees and with a wool detergent.

How should I wash your cotton products?

The products can be washed at any temperature and up to 60°C we can guarantee that they will keep their fit and colour - even after multiple washes. Drying in a tumble drier and ironing is also no problem for your cotton products. When our cotton is tumble dried it can shrink more than the usual 5% but the cotton will not be damaged.

Does your wool feel itchy?

Accepted Answer

The majority of our customers are incredibly happy with the wool, and they find it nice and soft.

However, we also know that the experience of whether or not the wool feels itchy is individual. Each individual feels it differently on their skin. Therefore, we suggest that you try the wool on for about 15 minutes (until the body has warmed the wool to your own body temperature). In our experience, once the wool has warmed up to body temperature, the wool no longer feels itchy, but still, it is an individual experience and assessment.

How do I remove stains from wool?

Accepted Answer

One option to remove stains is to apply wool detergent directly onto the stains and put the laundry in a bag for 1-2 hours before washing. Then remove the clothes from the bag and wash in the machine on a wool program with a wool wash detergent.

If you have an intractable stain, you can try to apply some extra wool detergent to the machine. However, stains of powerful colours can be difficult to remove completely from wool in pale colors. At DILLING, we have our very own perfume-free wool detergent, which we warmly recommend. We have chosen this detergent, because it is gentle to the wool and has a very good washing ability against stains and dirt.

When I wash your wool products at 30°C, does it kill bacteria?

Accepted Answer

DILLING wool detergent contains non-ionic surfactant which dissolves dirt as well as phosphonate which helps break down bacteria. The wool detergent can thus help remove most bacteria, but we cannot guarantee that all bacteria will be removed during a wash.

What micron size is your wool?

Accepted Answer

Our organic wool is 21.5 microns and our exclusive wool is 18.5 microns.

We remove any hair, which might make the wool feel 'itchy', from our organic wool with our environmentally neutral enzyme treatment. This makes it feel like a 19.5 micron or 20.5 micron. You can read more about our wool here.

Pilling / fluffing on wool products can occur over time and with wear and if the product is often rubbed against other clothes.

But fortunately, pilling does not impair the product's functionality.

How is your silk harvested?

Accepted Answer

Our silk is Mulberry silk. This silk comes from China and is produced by silkworms. The silkworms’ cocoons are used to make yarn. To produce a long thread of a high quality the cocoons are boiled with the silkworms inside. Boiled silkworms are a delicacy in Asia and are eaten by local people. It would not be possible to produce the same high quality of silk if the moth was allowed to chew its way out first, since the thread would then be separated into many short threads. That is why this method is used.

At DILLING, we care about good working conditions for everyone involved in our production – not least the sheep that provide the outstanding merino wool for our products. Where does DILLING's cotton come from?

Accepted Answer

All our cotton is organic and comes from India or Turkey. However, our grey mélange products are made from cotton that comes from Kyrgyzstan.
