DILLING’s wool is unique. Our wool is produced without chlorine and plastic (Superwash*). To keep the wonderful, natural properties of the merino wool fibres intact, machine wash your wool clothing on a wool setting at 30°C or hand wash in lukewarm water. Remember to always use wool detergent.
Please read the care instructions on your garment for specified instructions.
*Superwash is a treatment that is used to improve the wool’s washing abilities by coating the fibres with a thin layer of plastic. This treatment makes the wool more resistant to sudden temperature changes and rough handling. All in all, it makes the wool fibres washing-machine friendly. Unfortunately, with this treatment a lot of chlorine (AOX) is discharged with the wastewater, which has a negative impact on the environment. The treatment also ruins a lot of the natural properties of the wool. The plastic coating impairs the wool fibres’ natural ability to isolate against the cold, regulate temperatures, and absorb moisture.
Whether hand or machine washing, you should always use detergent specifically for wool. This is because standard detergent contains enzymes that will damage wool, whereas wool detergent is gentle and extends the life of the wool. You can purchase DILLING’s own wool detergent which is free from perfumes and labelled with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, and suitable for both hand and machine washing. It is kind to the colour and fibres of the wool, helping prevent it from fading or losing its shape.
If you hand wash your wool, do not leave the wool clothing to soak as this will damage the wool fibres. Rinse in clean, lukewarm water.
Do not wring. Instead, gently press the water out. Hang or lay your wool clothing to dry on a drying rack.
We use hand-picked cotton - long, durable, and soft fibres - that can withstand regular and frequent washing. High-quality cotton products, like ours, will hold up much longer before showing signs of wear and tear – even after extensive wear and washing. So, wash your DILLING cotton as you would usually do.
DILLING’s cotton can withstand regular and frequent washing at any temperature. Up to 60°C, we guarantee the cotton products will maintain their original shape and colour.
Our cotton products can also be ironed and tumble dried. When tumble dried, however, the cotton may shrink more than the usual 5%, but it will not be damaged.
