Regenerated nylon

ECONYL® regenerated nylon In addition to our natural materials, we also have a small selection of products that contain recycled materials like ECONYL® regenerated nylon. This quick-drying, durable material is made from waste like industrial plastic, discarded fishing nets, fabric scraps leftover from manufacturing, and carpet flooring. Waste like this - that would have otherwise been left in nature or landfills - is rescued and sorted. It then undergoes a radical regeneration and purification process and is later spun into yarns. Using materials already in circulation helps to reduce the use of raw materials (manufacturing all new materials like nylon is especially polluting because it comes from non-renewable sources). The desired effect of reusing existing materials is, essentially, a reduction in soil, air, and water pollution.

Care and washing instructions for this product:This product can be machine washed on a wool program at a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius. Remember to only wash with wool wash.Do not use softener and set the machine on a max spin speed of 400.Do not tumble dry this product as it can cause the insulating material to become felted.

Durable shorts designed for comfort and freedom of movement. Our durable softshell shorts for men are made from ECONYL® regenerated nylon (made from fabric scraps, and carpet flooring), organic merino wool, and elastane for stretch and unhindered freedom of movement. The shorts are comfortably lightweight, thermoregulating, and quick drying. The surface is both water-repellent and highly wind resistant. The water-repellent coating is free of formaldehyde and any fluorine substances. The shorts are made with two front pockets and a back pocket with a zipper for your valuables when hiking or running. The inside of the shorts is covered in soft, organic merino wool. The fabric composition and the construction enable moisture from the body to be transported away from the skin to the outside of the fabric, where the moisture will quickly dry.
