Allergy friendly clothing

The products closest to your skin should be free from harmful chemicals.

Allergy friendly clothes

Allergy is one of the most common chronic diseases that affect the daily lives of millions of people worldwide. At DILLING, we care deeply about reducing allergies and sensitivities.

*Based on an interview with DAAB, Deutscher Allergie – und Asthmabund.

Everyday chemistry

Every single day, we come in contact with hundreds of different chemicals. Through the air we breathe, the food we eat, and the clothes we wear. The chemicals are added to better the product, but many of them are harmful and have been linked to health problems like allergies and hormone disruption.

At DILLING, we only produce products that are natural, clean, and allergy friendly. We are very aware that the products closest to your skin need to be free from harmful substances, chemicals, and potential allergy triggers. Pollutants can irritate and disturb the skin barrier, and an inflamed skin becomes more permeable for other pollutants, like allergens. A healthy, intact skin offers good protection from many external influences, so it is important that the skin is healthy and resistant.

Children are more susceptible

Children have more permeable skin and do not metabolise chemicals in the same way as adults, which makes them more vulnerable to irritants. That is why we hear so much about rash, eczema, and other skin issues during our children’s first year. A baby’s skin, in particular, requires sensitive skin care and proper protection against allergy triggering chemicals in their clothes.

One of the best ways you can protect your children is to wrap them in natural materials without harmful chemicals or heavy metals. DILLING’s products are made from organic merino wool and cotton free from harmful chemicals - produced to give your children the best possible start to their lives.

Is your sportswear toxic?

Exercise is important for a healthy skin as it improves blood flow and transports pollutants away from the body. At the same time, sweaty skin tends to swell and becomes more permeable for pollutants, which means the apparel you wear can pose a potential risk. This is because it sticks to the skin and involves a lot of friction.

So, what can you do? Wear sportswear and activewear without harmful chemicals.. Look for the following labels for a safer and cleaner choice: Nordic Swan Ecolabel, Oeko-Tex100, GOTS, Bluesign, Cradle to Cradle, EU Ecolabel, Blue Angel, and natural textile labels like Toxproof, IVN Naturtextil Better and Best.

The impact of toxic chemicals in your clothing

Damaged skin is a burden for our well-being, and it can severely affect the healthy development of children. Contact allergy, for example, is often accompanied by an itchy skin inflammation, not to mention painful blisters and skin tears. For kids as well as for adults this is quite uncomfortable. To make matters worse, whenever you scratch, new pollutants and pathogens like bacteria or skin fungus can enter the skin. Skin inflammation can have psychological effects, too. When you or your children are in pain, it’s difficult to relax or sleep, which can be stressful.

Wearing harmful chemicals next to your skin on a regular basis can cause chronic inflammation of the skin, which is quite hard to cure. However, some contact allergies are very burdensome, as they cannot be cured and have a significant impact on everyday life and your overall quality of life.

Our allergy-friendly clothes and underwear

Providing allergy-friendly clothing has always been close to our hearts, especially because you wear the clothes right next to your skin. As a company, we have experienced allergy first-hand as our former dye-master, Birthe Jensen, developed allergy from formaldehyde back in the ‘80s. Ever since, we have worked tirelessly to provide our customers with garments free from heavy metals and harmful chemicals.

It means that whenever you buy clothes or underwear from DILLING, you are ensured that it is natural, organic, and sustainably made. Quite simply, you do not need to worry when your child is sucking on their sleeve, and you also don’t need to wash your clothes before use, as there are no traces of harmful chemicals.
