Positioning the embroidery hoop

An embroidery hoop consists of two parts – an inner and an outer ring. The outer ring has a tension mechanism with a small screw that allows you to loosen or tighten the hoop. The embroidery hoop defines the area you’re working on and smooths the fabric, helping you avoid creases and making it easier to control that you don’t embroider too tightly nor too loosely.

How to do it:

• Start by loosening the screw on the outer ring.
• Place the inner ring underneath the fabric, where you want to embroider.
• Place the outer ring on top of the fabric so it encloses the inner ring.
• Gently pull the fabric around the hoop to smooth it out. Make sure the fabric is not too tight, as this may cause the embroidery to sit too loosely on top of the repair.
• Tighten the screw on the outer ring to secure the hoops and hold the fabric in place.
