At DILLING, we have woven elastic for a few of our products manufactured at our neighbour, ELAS, in Herning. The close proximity makes it easy for us to stay in contact and keep an eye on the production. This also means we can make individual adjustments, so the jacquard elastic always meets the needs of our customers. Our designer at DILLING, Anna, recently visited ELAS, where she gained many fascinating insights.
DILLING’s elastic is made by the meter using huge machines. For our newest collection, we have had 5000m of Ökotex-certified blue jacquard elastic made. This is only for one colour of many! Jacquard elastic refers to a weaving pattern, or in our case, a base for our elastic.
Before starting production, we always consider how the final product should look. This includes, should it be a classic model in black, or should the product be spruced up with a little colour? Jacquard elastic allows us to add lovely detail to products and experiment with classic designs.
On a product such as a pair of boxers, the elastic should be able to withstand frequent use and still fit as well as when they were new.
